No-exam life insurance
The criteria for rapid underwriting approval, the process mechanics, and what happens if you don't qualify.
Today's carriers frequently use accelerated underwriting for qualified applicants: those matching specific age and coverage limits receive decisions from application information, pharmacy data, DMV records and related sources rather than medical exams. Rapid responses can arrive within hours. Each quotation indicates that carrier's exam policy for the specific coverage.
What it changes
An exam-free path doesn't eliminate underwriting. Carriers verify your statements; policies with misstatements are contestable in year one and two. Information from the carrier's database may trigger exam requests anyway; you maintain the choice to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually those age 60 or younger requesting standard benefit amounts, without significant medical conditions or recent tobacco use. Some carriers will substitute recent clinical lab work from your physician for a separate paramedical examination.
Should an exam be required, expect a paramedic visit lasting 20 to 30 minutes at your Lynwood home or workplace, provided at no expense to you. For healthy individuals, exam data frequently leads to better classifications, making exams potentially beneficial.
